Nik Kalra (Founder)

Hi, I’m Nik Kalra, and I’m 15 years old. I’ve been living with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) for my entire life, and I noticed a significant gap in support and resources for people like me. Inspired by my own experiences, I felt compelled to raise awareness about ARFID and create a space where others can find understanding and encouragement. My goal is to shed light on this often-misunderstood disorder and help foster a community that offers support, information, and hope. Together, we can make a difference!

My name is Maya Kalra, and I am the co-founder of the National ARFID Foundation. As the sister of someone living with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, I am strongly committed to helping those who struggle with this eating disorder. Having witnessed the challenges and isolation that people with ARFID face, my goal is to advocate for greater recognition and understanding of the disorder. I aim to expand the reach of the website and its resources, inspiring change to ensure that ARFID is no longer overlooked or dismissed. By expanding the reach of the website, I hope to empower individuals and families to find the support they need to heal and thrive.
